Yard Sale

Thank you to everyone who donated and worked on our garage sale. We had a steady stream of satisfied customers.  One family, still replacing possessions damaged in a house fire in the area said how thankful and pleased they were to find so many needed items.  It was great to be able to help and connect with the community while raising some needed funds for the church.

Welcome Back Sunday

Sunday September 11, 2022, was our Welcome Back service.  All Eden's music groups performed on the day.  During and after the service, we had an opportunity to learn more about the various groups and how you can get involved.

Clothing Mart

On Saturday September the 10th,  Eden United Church hosted a Community Clothing Mart.  This was a marvelous day with over 125 shoppers dropping in to purchase gently used or new unused women’s, men’s, children’s and infant’s clothing, shoes, boots,  purses, belts, scarves, mitts, gloves, hats, socks and linens with price tags of $5.00 or less.

This sale was organized by Eden’s Mission and Outreach Hub (EMOH) to provide good affordable clothing to folks in need, and, an opportunity to meet and connect with our Community.

The sale was a great success and many folks left with 3, 4, 5 + bags of clothing and a smile on their face.

All remaining clothing was sorted and donated to either : a local  Women’s Shelter, VITA which supports Single Moms, a hospital in Guatemala,  Cornerstone to Recovery Mississauga which provides programming and support for those impacted by addition and mental health and Salvation Army Thrift Shops in  Meadowvale, Streetsville, and Oakville.

We are so very thankful for all those in Eden’s Church family and our community, who supported us with donated items for the sale, then helped with advertising our event to the community, sorting clothes, setting up donated equipment and a shopping area in the Narthex, helping with Sale day, and then finally dismantling the sale and transporting the remaining clothing to various locations. This event could not have happened without you.

All proceeds from this sale are used by EMOH to provide future Mission and Outreach Events for our Community.

Please continue to check out our News / Upcoming Events page on our website for future events.

Pride Service

On June 12, Eden enjoyed a worship service honouring Pride month. Our worship was filled with colour, music, remembrance and reflection as we honoured and celebrated diversity in the family of a diverse God.

This worship service was received with excellent feedback, generating important questions and conversations, and was a wonderful way for Eden to begin the journey towards being an affirming ministry.”

Annual Golf Event

June 11 was a "magical" day for the Eden United Church Golf Tournament, Dinner and Silent Auction.

The weather was perfect for the 36 golfers who participated in the golf tournament at DerryDale Golf Course.

Congratulations to the winning foursome of Heather Du, Roger Du, Bruce Norris, and Shelly Wira with a score of 37 on the 12 hole course.

Back at the church, 78 people enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner, and had an opportunity to bid on a great assortment of auction items.

The event raised a total of $3,215.23 to support the mission and programs of Eden United Church.

Thank you to all who attended and donated items for this event.

Electronic Recycling Event

We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who donated items to our recent Electronic Recycling Event and made the event a big success.

We collected 6,662 pounds of unwanted electronics, which avoided going into Landfill.

Thank you to the amazing team of volunteers on the day who managed the event.

The event raised a total of $636.24 which will help support Eden’s operations.
