In January, 2013, we introduced a new curriculum in Sunday School – Godly Play.  Godly Play is based in the Montessori-style of teaching and holds at its foundation the belief that children are spiritual already, but like many adults, do not have the language to speak about their faith. Godly Play encourages children to engage with our Christian stories of faith where they are at in their own lives.  Godly Play encourages children to ponder how the stories of our faith touch their lives and where they might be in the story. 

Those who lead Godly Play also feel their own faith deeply nourished in the teaching of it, but also in hearing the children’s insights and responses.  It is a wonderfully rewarding ministry.

About once a month the children are led in music by one of our Sunday School leaders.  They teach the children a song that they then sing at the end of the worship service as the sung blessing.  Our goal is to give our children a repertoire of music that will also deepen their faith.
