Transportation

Mississauga transit (MiWay)
Cash: You can pay a cash fare and ask for a paper transfer when boarding a MiWay bus but drivers do not give change. Paper transfers are accepted by other transit agencies in the GTHA within a 2-hour window but NOT by the TTC.
Open Payment: You can tap a credit/debit card or mobile wallet. (Prepaid credit cards and gift cards will not work.) Tap again when you transfer to another transit system, including the TTC, and you will not be charged second fare.
PRESTO: Using a PRESTO card is the least expensive way to pay your fare. You can buy and load a physical PRESTO card for $4 from Shoppers Drug Mart, Go stations, Transit Terminals and Mississauga Community Centres. You can set the fare type on each PRESTO card (child, youth, Senior) at one of the customer service outlets by showing proof of age, otherwise an adult fare will be charged. Children 5 and under can travel for free without a PRESTO card. PRESTO cards can also be loaded online and added to your mobile wallet. Travel easily between transit systems using a PRESTO card within the 2-hour window.
Go Transit: Ride for free on MiWay when transferring to Go transit by tapping with the same method of payment. A 3-hour window applies.
Monthly Passes: are available and can be shared (as can PRESTO cards), but only if people are travelling at different times.

Affordable Transit Program (ATP)
This program provides a 50% discount on 12 PRESTO adult or senior monthly passes for use on Mississauga or Brampton transit. It can only be used in the city in which you live. Youth can also apply.
You can apply online for this program if you meet the low income threshold and are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or newcomer who has applied for permanent residency, sponsorship, or refugee protection in Canada.
Members of the same household can apply separately or together and upload supporting documentation.
A discounted monthly pass on your PRESTO card can be used on Go transit to receive a 50% fare reimbursement. Always remember to tap off on Go Transit.
